Colour is not a complete coating specification. Procurement documents should connect the exposure environment with an agreed process, measurable acceptance information and handling of cut or repaired areas.
Describe the exposure environment
Record indoor or outdoor use, moisture, storage duration and any project-specific chemical or abrasion exposure.
State process and acceptance information
Agree the substrate preparation, coating route and inspection records required. Avoid implying performance that has not been defined or tested for the project.
Address edges and field damage
Confirm how cut edges, weld areas and handling damage are treated and which party performs any site repair.
